 Within the Gaylord Texan Resort’s four-and-a-half acres of lush indoor gardens, discover SummerFest that includes strolling entertainment, musicians, caricature artists, stilt walkers and face painters in addition to a Texas art tour, a train exhibit and musical performances.
Culinary events will include junior chef camps, a restaurant dine-around, dessert tastings, wine and cheese pairings, murder-mystery dinners, a winemaker dinner series and "Kids Eat Free" Thursday nights, firework shows, poolside dive-in movies and a lakeside Sunday brunch. In addition, visitors can play water sports on the lake or try out the 18-hole championship golf at nearby Cowboys Golf Club.

While in town, step back in time to the 19th century and hop aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, featuring “Puffy,” the oldest continuously running steam engine in the South. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad makes round-trip excursions from Grapevine’s Cotton Belt Railroad Depot to Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards Station. During the summer, be on the lookout for the bad guys as the Great Train Robberies are part of the ride to the Stockyards! Trains operate Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
